Homecoming: Mammoth Crowd Welcomes APC Gubernatorial Aspirant Dr. Namdas to Ganye

Dr. Abdulrazak Saad Namdas, an All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant, returned to his hometown of Ganye to a heroic welcome from a mammoth crowd of supporters and political loyalists.

The APC stalwart was first received at the “Welcome to Ganye” gate by hundreds of enthusiastic supporters who had gathered since daybreak, before proceeding to the Gangwari’s palace to receive royal blessings ahead of his second bid for the governorship of Adamawa State.

The prestigious Gangwari Square, renowned for hosting high-profile programmes in the chiefdom, was filled to capacity as stakeholders from various political parties, friends, families, and top government functionaries gathered to express their delight over their son’s ambition to lead the state.

Addressing the electrified gathering, Dr. Namdas, who is vying for the governorship seat for the second time, told his supporters that adopting the cliché “Progress Assured” signifies that Governor Fintiri’s legacy would be consolidated if he is elected.

While appealing for support and forgiveness from his people, the aspirant lamented that Ganye Chiefdom and southern Adamawa have lagged significantly in terms of development.

“A vote for Namdas means development and freedom,” he declared, urging the people to look at the examples of Mayo Belwa, Madagali, and Mubi where leaders once emerged from those zones.

Dr. Namdas assured the crowd that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has guaranteed that the primaries will be free and fair. He further outlined his priority areas, including rural development, education, employment generation, and health empowerment, specifically promising that the Mayo Belwa to Tola road would be constructed.

The host and Chairman of Ganye Local Government Area, Farouk Mohammed, extolled the virtues of Dr. Namdas for his doggedness in carrying the banner of the Chamba race in Nigeria’s political spheres.

“Ganye people are happy to have him contest,” Mohammed stated, begging the people of Ganye Chiefdom to rally round the Chamba race, describing Namdas as qualified and capable to lead Adamawa State.

He declared, “It is payback time, since the chiefdom supported other candidates in past elections. It is now time to look for the development of the chiefdom. The Chamba Nation needs a governor, not a deputy.”

In their goodwill messages, Barrister A.T. Shehu, former State Chairman of the PDP, Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Anthony Emmanuel Piridimso and Ambassador Patricia Yakubu, said it gladdened their hearts that Namdas had purchased the nomination form to contest.

They described Dr. Namdas as a grassroots politician, adding that “Fintiri is looking for” such a candidate. The speakers declared that God had given the Chamba people another chance to support freedom and liberation for Ganye Chiefdom to produce the governor of Adamawa State.

“Adamawa needs a fearless man who can take power from Fintiri to consolidate on his gains, and that man is Namdas,” they asserted.

The Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Namdas Campaign Organization, Abdulrahman Shuaibu, described northern and southern Adamawa as twin brothers that must come together to produce the next governor from the southern zone.

“This is the turn of Ganye Chiefdom to rule Adamawa State,” Shuaibu declared.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Planning Committee for Namdas’ homecoming, Alhassan Hamanjoda, expressed confidence that looking at Namdas’ track record in service and politics, the aspirant is the man to beat during the primaries.

The event concluded with a carnival-like atmosphere as supporters pledged their unwavering commitment to ensuring the Chamba nation produces the next governor of Adamawa State.
