Breaking: Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu Wins APC Governorship Primary in Adamawa, Set for 2027 Battle

The All-Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled its flag bearer for the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State, with businessman and political stalwart Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu emerging as the winner of the party’s keenly contested primary election.

The Chairman of the party’s Governorship Primary Election Committee in Adamawa State, Professor Innocent Barikor, announced the final result on Tuesday at the Government House in Yola, drawing applause from a large gathering of party faithful and supporters.

According to Professor Barikor, Aminu secured a commanding victory, polling 414,444 votes to defeat his closest rivals. His nearest challenger, Abdulrazzaq Sa’ad Namdas, garnered 86,004 votes, while Abdulrahman Bashir Haske finished third with 65,924 votes.

“Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu, having satisfied the requirements of the law and polled the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the APC governorship primary election for Adamawa State,” Professor Barikor declared.

The electoral committee chairman also took a moment to commend Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and other key stakeholders of the party for their support and cooperation throughout the exercise, noting that the process was largely peaceful and transparent.

The declaration ceremony at the Government House attracted a wide spectrum of party leaders, state stakeholders, and supporters of the victorious candidate. Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also present to monitor the collation and announcement of results, fulfilling electoral guidelines.

In his acceptance remarks, Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu thanked the party delegates and promised to run a campaign focused on development, unity, and economic revival for Adamawa State. He called on his fellow aspirants to join hands with him to unseat the incumbent administration in the 2027 general elections.

With this victory, Aminu becomes the standard-bearer of the ruling APC, setting the stage for a high-stakes governorship contest in Adamawa State come 2027.
