Davido Marks 15 Years in Music with Oriadé, an Album Rooted in Royalty and Legacy

Davido has celebrated 15 years in his professional music career with the release of his sixth studio album, Oriadé. The 13-track project, whose title is derived from the Yoruba phrase meaning “the crowned head,” features notable collaborations with artists including Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Leon Thomas, Mayorkun, and Llona.

Over a decade and a half, and six studio albums deep, Davido continues to make each release a significant event. Oriadé dropped on 31 July 2026, a date deliberately chosen to mark exactly 15 years since he launched his professional career. From its title to the carefully curated tracklist and featured artists, the album embodies everything Davido promised.

The album’s title reflects where Davido’s mindset is today. Derived from the Yoruba words “Ori” (destiny) and “Adé” (crown), Oriadé translates to “the crowned head.” The album explores themes of purpose, identity, legacy, gratitude, faith, and brotherhood. When announcing the album in June, Davido shared a cinematic teaser with the caption: “The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne.” At 13 tracks, Oriadé is his shortest album yet—a focused and cohesive body of work following the expansive 5ive, which peaked at number two on the Billboard World Albums chart in 2025.

The featured artists across the album are equally impressive. Oriadé opens with “On the Road” before moving into “Amazing Grace,” a collaboration with Ghanaian star Black Sherif. Previously released singles “I Know Who I Be” (featuring South African producers JAZZWRLD and GL Ceejay) and “Gimme Dat Ting” (featuring NO11) are also included. Other guest appearances feature Mayorkun and Fola on “B4 B4,” American R&B singer Leon Thomas on “Tell Everybody,” French-Malian pop star Aya Nakamura on “Yaya,” and Llona on “My Light.” The album is rounded out by solo tracks such as “Julie,” “Constantly,” “Already Falling,” “Zanzibar,” and “Guide.”

When unveiling the tracklist on 28 July, Davido wrote: “ORIADÉ. Musical royalty from top to bottom. The kingdom expands. Out this Friday!” He has also announced an international tour to support the album, anticipated to build on the success of his recent 5ive Tour.
