Northern Governors’ Wives Forum to Hold Landmark Meeting in Adamawa

Her Excellency Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, First Lady of Adamawa State, will host the 2nd Tri-Annual Meeting of the Northern Governors’ Wives’ Forum (NGWF) from September 15–16, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola.

The gathering will bring together First Ladies from across Northern Nigeria to deliberate on issues affecting women, children, and vulnerable populations, while strengthening regional collaboration on sustainable development initiatives.

During the event, Hajiya Lami will empower 200 beneficiaries with ₦20 million to support business expansion and sustainable income generation, reinforcing her commitment to poverty reduction and women’s economic inclusion.

A statement signed by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Ishaya Bitrus, the First Lady will also officially commission a newly completed Paediatric Unit at Specialist Hospital, Yola, enhancing access to specialised child healthcare services in the state.

The twin initiatives reflect Hajiya Lami’s broader vision of combining economic empowerment with improved healthcare delivery for women, children, and vulnerable communities across Adamawa State.
