Fintiri’s Vision Takes Shape as Works Team Inspects Site for Fresh Air Ultra Modern Builders Market in Adamawa

In a bold step toward actualizing the infrastructural transformation agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Engr. Mohammed Suleiman (FNSE, FNICE), has led a high-powered delegation to inspect the proposed site for the construction of the Fresh Air Ultra Modern Builders Market along Numan Road.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mohammed Awal Ibrahim; the Director of Civil Engineering, Engr. Geoffrey P. Dariya; and other senior technical staff of the Ministry.

The proposed market project is designed not only to boost urban development but also to ensure clear and uninterrupted access to essential public facilities—most notably the Adamawa State Specialist Hospital. During the site tour, Hon. Engr. Suleiman carefully assessed the master plan, paying close attention to the layout of access roads and drainage control systems, which have been engineered to facilitate smooth traffic flow and provide effective flood management within the area.

The Commissioner reiterated that the initiative aligns with the present administration’s unwavering commitment to modernizing public infrastructure. He emphasized that the market, once completed, will create a more organized, accessible, and business-friendly environment for residents and traders across the state.

“This project is part of Governor Fintiri’s broader vision to give Adamawa State a strategic and befitting infrastructural overhaul. We are not just building a market—we are building a system that prioritizes order, safety, and economic growth,” Engr. Suleiman stated.

He further assured that the Ministry would ensure strict adherence to engineering standards and project timelines, noting that the new market is expected to decongest informal trading clusters and enhance the aesthetic and economic landscape of the Numan Road corridor.

The Permanent Secretary, Mohammed Awal Ibrahim, added that the technical team would continue to fine-tune the design to guarantee durability and functionality. The inspection marks a significant milestone before the commencement of full-scale construction, which stakeholders say will be a game-changer for the state’s building materials trade and urban planning framework.
