Adamawa Reaffirms Drive to Improve Healthcare Services

The Adamawa State Government has reiterated its resolve to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve health outcomes across the state.

The assurance was given by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, during a courtesy visit by officials of the Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN) at the Government House in Yola on Thursday.

Farauta stressed the importance of immunisation, describing it as the fundamental right of every child, and pledged the government’s continued commitment to ensuring that children across the state receive life-saving vaccines.

She noted that the administration remains determined to eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases through sustained vaccination campaigns and improved healthcare interventions.

According to her, the state government is open to strategic partnerships with organisations committed to improving the wellbeing of citizens, particularly in the health sector.

Earlier, the Team Leader of the delegation, Dr. Suleiman Mshelia, explained that CHAN serves as the coordinating body for Christian and missionary hospitals nationwide.

He stated that the association focuses on advocating for missionary hospitals, enhancing their operational capacity, and ensuring compliance with government healthcare standards and regulations.

Mshelia disclosed that the team was in Adamawa to recommission the Numan warehouse originally established in 1989 but later shut down due to administrative setbacks.

He explained that the facility would now function as a key storage and distribution centre for missionary hospitals within the region, adding that operations had already resumed.

The CHAN official also highlighted the organisation’s collaboration with relevant government institutions to promote efficient healthcare service delivery.

He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration for its achievements in healthcare and infrastructural development, while appealing for greater financial support to boost the activities of missionary hospitals in the state.
