Adamawa Begins Registration of 72,000 Beneficiaries for PAWECA Support Scheme

The Adamawa State Government has launched the data capture and registration process for beneficiaries of the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) empowerment programme across the state.

Residents in Hong Local Government Area were seen turning out in large numbers as officials commenced the collection of beneficiaries’ information for the intervention initiative.

The exercise comes shortly after the distribution of application forms began on Saturday, aimed at ensuring qualified residents are enrolled into the programme.

Speaking on the development, the Director-General of PAWECA, Dr. Michael Zira, stated that the initiative targets petty traders, artisans, and small-scale entrepreneurs throughout Adamawa State.

He explained that the state government approved a N3.75 billion intervention fund to assist beneficiaries in expanding their businesses and improving their livelihoods.

According to Zira, the programme aligns with the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s commitment to poverty reduction, economic empowerment, and the growth of small businesses in the state.

The government added that about 72,000 small business owners are expected to benefit from the Fintiri Business Wallet scheme statewide.
