Commissioner Leads Inspection Team as Contractors Mobilize for 31km Kofare Road Network

As contractors begin mobilizing to site for the construction of the 31-kilometre road network in Kofare, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Engr. Mohammed Suleiman (FNICE, FNSE), has led a high-level team on an inspection visit to assess the project’s level of preparedness.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Mohammed Awal Ibrahim; the Director of Civil Engineering, Engr. Geoffrey P. Dariya; and Surveyor Ishaku Medugu. During the visit, the team toured the proposed road corridors to verify that all illegal structures encroaching on the Right of Way (ROW) had been removed ahead of construction activities.

Speaking on the project, Engr. Suleiman described the initiative as a testament to the commitment of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to expanding infrastructure and improving connectivity across Adamawa State. He noted that the 31-kilometre network would significantly open up Kofare, one of the fastest-growing areas in Yola, where many residents currently lack adequate access roads.

The inspection team directed contractors to ensure strict adherence to project specifications and timelines, while community leaders were urged to cooperate with authorities to prevent future encroachments on the road corridors. Construction is expected to commence in full once final clearance of the ROW is confirmed.
