 ADC Confident of Ballot Presence, Urges Adamawa Members to Stay Focused

The Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on its members to ignore speculations surrounding ongoing legal issues involving the party, describing them as mere political distractions.

Speaking with journalists in Yola after a stakeholders’ meeting over the weekend, the State Chairman, Barrister Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin, reassured members that the party remains strong and will fully participate in the 2027 general elections nationwide.

Dasin emphasized that the ADC’s position has been solidified by a ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which affirmed the party’s national leadership. According to him, this development guarantees the party’s inclusion on the ballot at all levels in the upcoming elections.

He urged party members and aspirants across Adamawa State to begin engaging with party leadership regarding their ambitions, noting that preparations for the nomination process are already underway.

“The party structure is intact, leadership is stable, and we are moving forward with plans for the nomination exercise at all levels,” Dasin said. He also tasked the party’s publicity arm with ensuring that accurate information reaches members and the general public.

Also speaking, the State Publicity Secretary, Martins Dickson, explained that the stakeholders’ meeting was convened to provide clarity following the Supreme Court verdict and to strengthen unity among members ahead of key political activities.

Dickson encouraged supporters not to be swayed by misinformation but to remain committed and focused as the electoral process progresses.

At the end of the meeting, a communiqué was presented by the State Secretary, Barrister Shagnah Pwamaddi. The communiqué highlighted plans to soon commence the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for aspirants intending to contest under the ADC platform.

The meeting brought together local government party chairmen, members of the State Working Committee, and other grassroots stakeholders, all reaffirming their commitment to building a stronger party ahead of the 2027 elections.
