Vunobolki Declares for Adamawa Governorship, Pledges to Consolidate Fintiri’s Legacy

A frontline politician and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Maurice Vunobolki, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Governorship seat of Adamawa State in the 2027 general elections.

The declaration, which took place at the colorful and jam-packed hall of Yomi Event Center in Yola, drew thousands of supporters, party faithful, and civil society groups from across the state.

Addressing his teeming supporters, Dr. Maurice Vunobolki vowed to consolidate on the achievements of the current administration led by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, particularly in the areas of urban renewal, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and sports development.

“I am not here to start afresh. I am here to consolidate and expand. If given the mandate as Governor, rural road connectivity will be expanded to meet the yearnings and aspirations of our people,” Vunobolki declared.

He further outlined a comprehensive blueprint, promising that the provision of portable drinking water and expansion of water schemes for all residents would receive immediate attention. He also pledged to integrate skill acquisition centres across the state to boost youth entrepreneurship and technical expertise.

For civil servants, Vunobolki promised robust social protection schemes, while also committing to sustain the legacy of chiefdoms creation and ensure the sustainability of solar power energy for Adamawa State.

Earlier in his address of welcome, the Director General of the Maurice Vunobolki Campaign Organisation, Abba Girei, described the aspirant’s decision as born out of a genuine desire to bring transformative development.

“The APC is the party to beat, and Chief Maurice Vunobolki is eminently qualified to be Governor of Adamawa State,” Girei stated.

Several groups, including the Women Effect Initiative International, the Vunobolki Progressive Movement, Sakato Youth Organization, and the Association of Mobilizers, Adamawa State chapter, among others all took turns to praise the aspirant’s track record.

Speakers highlighted his seven-year leadership of the Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP), noting that many communities have benefited immensely from recovery efforts under his watch. They called on Chief Vunobolki not to relent in pursuing his dream to become the next Governor of Adamawa State.
