Fintiri’s Infrastructure Drive Gains Momentum as Commissioner Inspects Key Road Projects in Northern Adamawa

Following the completion and ongoing execution of strategic infrastructure projects in the northern zone of Adamawa State, the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Hon. Engr. Mohammed Suleiman, has led a high-powered monitoring and evaluation team on a routine inspection tour to assess project quality and progress.

The team, which included the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Ibrahim Awal Mohammed; Director of Civil Engineering, Engr. Geoffrey P. Dariya; Director of Finance and Planning, as well as other technical staff, began their tour in Zhedinyi, Hong Local Government Area.

The first point of call was the newly completed four-cell culverts in Zhedinyi—a critical intervention in an area previously cut off due to heavy rainfall. The successful completion of the culverts has now restored access to other parts of the state, bringing relief to commuters and residents who had been stranded for weeks.

The inspection team subsequently moved to Maiha Local Government Area, where the Commissioner assessed the newly completed 5.7km township road network. The project, which now provides seamless connectivity within the town, was praised for its adherence to specifications and timely delivery.

The tour continued to Mubi Local Government Area, where Engr. Suleiman inspected the ongoing construction of the 24.1km Mubi–Maiha road. In what he described as a model of efficiency, he noted that asphalting, concrete works, and earthworks are progressing concurrently. He commended the contractor for the pace and quality of the project, reaffirming the government’s commitment to delivering durable and sustainable infrastructure across the state.

It will be recalled that the 24.1km Mubi–Maiha road is one of several federal government infrastructure projects being executed under the administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as part of broader efforts to boost connectivity, replace damaged infrastructure, and improve socio-economic development across the state.

The Commissioner assured residents that the government would continue to prioritize strategic road networks that link communities and stimulate economic activity, while urging contractors to maintain high standards and adhere to project timelines.
