Christ’s Resurrection Gives Victory Over Sins, Says Reverend Friday Timothy
Christians have been called to believe that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ signify total victory over sin, with the power to overcome all spiritual and physical obstacles.
Reverend Friday Timothy made the call on Sunday during a sermon to commemorate Easter at LCCN 1 Badirisa. Preaching on the topic, “Because Christ has risen, I am a victor,” he took his text from Mark 16:1–7.

The cleric said the resurrection of Christ from the dead after three days gives believers power over sins, eternal sufferings, and every obstacle they may face in life.
According to Reverend Timothy, Christ’s resurrection also means hope for the hopeless and a voice for the voiceless, adding that believers in Christ are more than conquerors.
He further encouraged Christians, in the spirit of Easter, to demonstrate love, kindness, patience, and forgiveness so that they may inherit the kingdom of Christ.
The Easter service also afforded the sub-groups of the church an opportunity to present songs in line with the celebration. Prayers were offered for those who gave their lives to Christ and for the renewal of their faith.
