Tinubu Denounces Plateau, Kaduna Killings, Orders Swift Action Against Attackers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent wave of violent attacks in parts of Plateau and Kaduna States, labeling the incidents as “barbaric and unacceptable.”

The attacks, which took place in Angwan Rukuba in Jos, Plateau State, and Kahir village in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, reportedly left several people dead while others, including wedding guests, were abducted.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President assured Nigerians that those responsible for the attacks would be tracked down and brought to justice.

Tinubu described the attackers as “heartless cowards,” noting that targeting vulnerable communities under the cover of darkness is aimed at provoking further violence and deepening tensions.

He directed security agencies to intensify intelligence-driven operations to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent future occurrences. The President also warned against the spread of misinformation and urged media organisations to avoid portraying the attacks as religiously motivated.

Calling for greater collaboration between citizens and security forces, Tinubu stressed the need for proactive measures, including acting on early warning signals. He further ordered the immediate rescue of all abducted victims from Kahir village.

The President commended the efforts of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for their roles in managing the crises and supporting ongoing rescue operations.

He also extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving national security, Tinubu revealed that the government is investing in advanced technology and equipment to help security agencies detect and neutralise criminal activities in real time across the country.
