Police Launch Investigation into Discovery of Lifeless Body in Girei
The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced an investigation following the discovery of a lifeless body in Girei Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the incident was reported on March 23, 2026, as a case of sudden and unnatural death.
The body, identified as that of Ahmed Mohammed, a 46-year-old resident of Anguwan Hona, was found hanging from a tree at the foothills of Bagale Mountain.
Police authorities confirmed that the victim was evacuated to Cottage Hospital in Girei, where a medical doctor certified him dead.
The Command stated that a full investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have also appealed to members of the public to provide any useful information that could assist in the ongoing inquiry.
