Adamawa Journalists, Marks IUAI In Gland Styles.

Members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, in Adamawa State drawn from various media organizations today 28 September 2023, marched on the streets of Yola, the Adamawa State Capital, to celebrate the 2023, International Day for Universal Access to Information.

The march began at the complex of the State Ministry for Information, down to Government House Yola, where they were received by the Chief of Staff to the Governor Dr. Amos Edgar.

The Commissioner for Information Mrs Neido Tanyishi Kufulto, who led the march says the administration of Governor Fintiri is open to the media for scrutiny and constructive criticism, charging journalists to always verify information before disseminating.

The Chief of Staff who received the journalist on behalf of the Governor said, the governor places high premium on the media and had always giving journalists free access to information concerning the government.

Edgar, said governor Fintiri is no doubt the governor in the country now with highest number of media aides, saying this is because the governor recognized the role of information dissemination.

He charged Journalists to continue to show professionalism and shun fake news for the development of a healthy democracy.

Aso speaking, the NUJ chairman comrade Dedan, says access to information will help journalists do their work professionally and charger those who relied on social media for news which is full of misinformation to desist forthwith.

The Journalists how ever believed that free access to information would ease their work as watch dogs of the society.
