Adamawa Police Neutralize Kidnap Suspects, Recover Arsenal In Gombi Operation
The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded another major operational breakthrough in its sustained fight against violent crimes, announcing the arrest of a suspected fratricide killer and the neutralisation of two of his accomplices in Gombi Local Government Area.
According to a detailed statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the operation commenced following credible intelligence received by operatives attached to the Gombi Divisional Police Headquarters.
The intelligence led to the swift arrest of one Abubakar Sadiq, 40, a male resident of Boga Village, Gombi LGA. He was apprehended in connection with the brutal killing of his elder brother, Alhaji Sadiq Kawu Boga, which occurred on January 20, 2026.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime alongside five others. Demonstrating cooperation, he subsequently led police operatives and collaborating professional hunters to a location where one (1) AK-47 rifle and twenty-four (24) rounds of live ammunition, used in the commission of the offence, were recovered.
“The suspect further mentioned two of his accomplices, namely: Jalo Hamiyu, 35, and Umar Baba, 41, both males and residents of Fotta Village, Gombi LGA,” the police statement revealed.
Acting on this information, a joint team comprising Police operatives, Hunters, and members of the Civilian JTF immediately proceeded to the suspects’ hideout to effect their arrest.
However, upon sighting the security team, the duo opened fire in a bid to scare the operatives and escape arrest. This precipitated a fierce gun duel which resulted in the neutralisation of both suspects.
Additional exhibits recovered at the scene include:

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+), has commended the gallantry, swift response, and professionalism exhibited by the DPO Gombi and his team. He reassured the public of the Commandโs unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property across the State.
Meanwhile, the Command has intensified efforts to track down and apprehend the remaining fleeing members of the crime network. The arrested suspect, Abubakar Sadiq, will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
Members of the public are encouraged to continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information to aid security operations across Adamawa State.
