Governor Fintiri Reaffirms Infrastructure Pledge, Commissions Projects in Ganye

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reiterated his administration’s steadfast commitment to even development across Adamawa State, assuring the people of Ganye Local Government Area of sustained investment in critical infrastructure.

The Governor gave the assurance on Tuesday 27th January 2026 during a one-day working visit to the area, where he addressed a large gathering of youths, women, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders at the historic Gangwari Square.

Governor Fintiri highlighted the broad successes recorded by his administration over the past six and a half years, pointing to foundational policies like free and compulsory education, extensive youth and women empowerment programmes, and job creation initiatives as pillars of his transformative agenda.

“We remain unwavering in our resolve to develop every part of Adamawa State,” Governor Fintiri stated. “Infrastructure development is a key priority for us, and Ganye is no exception. Our investments over the years testify to this commitment.”

Commissioning of projects

He specifically cited the completion and commissioning of the Ganye-Sanga Sumi road as a landmark achievement that has improved connectivity and economic activity in the area.

To further underscore this commitment, the Governor commissioned multiple completed projects within the local government. These included:

· The newly constructed ‘Welcome to Ganye’ gate.

· The newly built Garum District Palace.

· The entrance gate of the Ganye Local Government Secretariat.

· The renovated Council Chamber.

· The newly erected Gangwari Palace gate.

The commissioning ceremony was met with jubilation from residents, who expressed appreciation for the projects aimed at enhancing the aesthetics, administrative functionality, and cultural heritage of the area.

In his remarks, the Gangwari Ganye, Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Adamu Sanda, thanked the Governor for fulfilling his promises and for his inclusive style of governance. He noted that the visible projects and policies have positively impacted the lives of the people.

Chairman of Ganye local government area Farouk Muhammad in his remarks said Governor Fintiri has demonstrated commitment to uplifting the standards of living of the people at the grassroots, a pillar that has endeared him to embark on these projects.

The visit and project commissioning in Ganye are seen as part of Governor Fintiri’s ongoing efforts to consolidate grassroots support and demonstrate tangible dividends of democracy ahead of future political engagements.
