Adamawa Assembly Approves N752.4bn Supplementary Budget for 2026 Fiscal Year

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of N752 billion, 437 million naira for the 2026 fiscal year.

The approval followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the Committee of Supply, chaired by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley.

The House considered the supplementary budget proposal after reconstituting into a Committee of the Whole to deliberate on the report of the Committee of Supply.

Presenting the report, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, highlighted the provisions contained in the supplementary appropriation, after which members considered the recommendations of the committee.

The consideration paved the way for the final legislative process on the bill.

The Majority Leader of the House and Member representing Demsa Constituency, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, thereafter moved a motion for the third reading of the bill.

The motion was seconded by the Member representing Toungo Constituency, Hon. Kefas Calvin.

The bill was subsequently subjected to the required legislative procedures and was approved by the House.

The supplementary budget is expected to provide additional financial provisions for the implementation of government programmes and activities in Adamawa State during the 2026 fiscal year.

The approval underscores the Assembly’s constitutional responsibility to consider and authorise public expenditure to facilitate the implementation of government policies and programmes.
