Tinubu Approves N219bn for Four Major Roads in Adamawa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved N219.236 billion for four key road projects in Adamawa State, a move the Federal Government says will transform transport, trade and rural access across all three senatorial zones.

Announced on Tuesday, the package targets some of the state’s most strategic corridors and long-neglected routes, marking one of the largest federal road investments in the state in recent years.

The single largest allocation, N83 billion, will fund the construction of the Ngurore–Jimeta–Mayo Belwa Road, a critical link expected to ease movement across southern Adamawa.

Another N58 billion is set aside for Phase II of the Yola–Hong–Mubi highway, a vital commercial artery linking northern Adamawa communities to the state capital and beyond.

The President also signed off N15.246 billion to extend the Yola–Fufore–Gurin Road by an additional 20 kilometres, building on the 17-kilometre stretch already completed.

Completing the slate is N62.99 billion for the Toungo–Karamti Road, which includes five new bridges to ease movement between Adamawa and neighbouring Taraba State and support cross-border commerce.

Government officials say the roads are expected to cut travel time, improve safety, open up rural areas to markets, and close critical infrastructure gaps that have long hampered economic activity in the state.

For Adamawa, the approvals rank among the biggest federal road investments in recent years and are projected to deliver broad socio-economic gains for residents and businesses alike.
