We produced 73,740 drivers’ licences in two weeks – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) issued 73,740 national drivers’ licenses (NDLs) in two weeks, according to Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed.

Olusegun Ogungbemide, the corps’ public education officer, quoted Mr. Mohammed making this announcement on Wednesday in Abuja.

Mr. Mohammed stated that this accomplishment was the result of strategic measures to address the backlog of license applications.

Upon taking office, Mr. Mohammed visited the FRSC Print Farm as a significant move to overhaul the service delivery process related to issuing drivers’ licenses.

This assessment was driven by widespread public complaints about the prolonged delays applicants faced in obtaining their licenses.

Following the assessment, the corps marshal established a task force to clear the backlogs as quickly as possible.

He ordered 24-hour production and the immediate resolution of technical issues that were hindering the farm’s production capacity.

“As of now, 84,500 NDLs are in the queue for production and will be distributed to the respective State Licensing Authorities nationwide,” he said.

Mr. Mohammed reassured the public of the corps’ dedication to providing quality service.

He encouraged applicants, especially those who have been waiting for their licenses, to visit their state licensing offices to check and collect their licenses.
