Remi Tinubu Responds to Senator Natasha’s Allegations Against Akpabio
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Tinubu, has addressed the controversy surrounding the allegations of sexual harassment leveled against Senate President Godswill Akpabio by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Speaking in the lead-up to International Women’s Day, Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of respecting the Senate as a “matured” institution. She expressed confidence in the lawmakers’ ability to handle the matter appropriately, stating, “I believe that the Senate is doing what is needful.”
Having served as a senator for 12 years, Tinubu encouraged women to assert themselves in leadership positions and not allow themselves to be marginalized. She urged women to take charge and shut down any attempts to undermine them, stating, “You can always shut them down before they start.”
Her remarks come amid growing scrutiny of the Senate’s handling of the allegations, with many calling for a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter.
