PSC fixes Police Recruitment CBT for March 5th

The Police Service Commission has scheduled the Computer Based Test (CBT) for successful candidates of the police recruitment process on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024.

The recruitment process included credentials and physical screenings conducted across the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission’s Spokesperson, announced this in Abuja on Thursday.

The aptitude tests are designated for candidates applying for general duty positions, with a total of 171,956 successful applicants expected to participate. Additionally, 43,778 successful candidates in the specialist cadre will undergo practical tests at a later date, to be announced by the Commission.

The decision to have the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) conduct the computer-based tests for police applicants was approved during a meeting of the Police Recruitment Board.

Among the successful candidates, 25,818 are female and 146,138 are male. Kaduna State has the highest number of candidates with 12,343, followed by Bauchi, Benue, and Katsina. Conversely, Anambra State has the fewest candidates with 343 applicants, trailed by Lagos and Ebonyi. Dr. Solomon Arase CFR, retired Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Commission, expressed confidence in concluding the exercise promptly to bolster the fight against insurgency and banditry.

He commended the President for the opportunity to strengthen the police force and assured the continued pursuit of citizen-oriented and well-equipped police personnel. Successful candidates will undergo medical examinations before training commencement.
