POLITICS: Gov. Agbu Kefas,Clears Air on Possible Defection.
The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has hinted that he may soon make public his position on whether or not he will defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Agbu Kefas disclosed this on Tuesday during a meeting with political stakeholders from across the state, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Jalingo.
The high-level meeting brought together key figures across Taraba’s political landscape.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kefas stated that in the coming days, he would make his intentions known to the people of the state.
He also appreciated the APC for what he described as its open-door policy toward individuals interested in joining the party.
The Governor explained that all his political decisions are guided by his desire to build a Taraba of everyone’s dreams, emphasizing that his administration stands for unity, peace, and progress.
He assured stakeholders that he would continue to uphold justice and fairness, urging citizens to live together in harmony regardless of political affiliations.
In his remarks, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the APC North East Zonal Chairman, who represented the National Chairman of the party, said the meeting was aimed at fostering unity across political divides for the good of the state.
He commended Governor Kefas for his inclusive approach to governance, describing the Governor’s actions as being “in the best interest of the people of Taraba.”
Also speaking, the APC Deputy National Women Leader, Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim, lauded Governor Kefas for convening the meeting, noting that the party was ready to welcome him should he decide to join its ranks.
In his welcome address, the APC Chairman in Taraba State, Barr. Ibrahim Tukur Elsudi, urged the Governor to continue giving every group and individual a sense of belonging in his administration.
