NYSC 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members Sworn In at Damare Orientation Camp
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I swearing-in ceremony was held on Friday at the Damare Orientation Camp in Adamawa State, marking the official commencement of service for hundreds of new corps members deployed to the state.
The event was graced by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board in Adamawa State, Barr. Wali Yakubu, who delivered an inspiring address to the newly inducted corps members.
Welcoming them to Adamawa, Barr. Yakubu described the state as a land of peace, hospitality, and cultural richness. He assured the corps members that beyond being a place of service, Adamawa would become a home where they would be supported, celebrated, and empowered throughout their service year.
He emphasized the critical role of the orientation programme in shaping the corps members’ journey, urging them to participate actively in all camp activities, abide by camp rules, and embrace the values of unity, discipline, and community service.
“I strongly encourage you to take full advantage of the SAED (Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development) programme,” he said. “It is not just a camp activity — it’s a launchpad for your future. Through partnerships with institutions such as CBN, BOI, Access Bank, and NIRSAL, you have access to the funding and support needed to transform your ideas into thriving enterprises.”
The Commissioner also commended the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, for his consistent support for youth development and the NYSC scheme, noting that the governor’s commitment has continued to foster a safe and enabling environment for young Nigerians in the state.
In addition, Barr. Yakubu extended appreciation to the Chief Judge of Adamawa State for administering the oath of allegiance, and praised the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Osondu Caroline Chinwe, for her unwavering dedication to the welfare and security of corps members.
The ceremony marked the beginning of a transformative journey for the new corps members, who are expected to undergo three weeks of intensive training and capacity building as part of the orientation course.
