Ex- SGF Mustapha Bags Honorary Doctorate Degree In Law At FUW
The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Barrister (Dr) Boss Mustapha CFR NPoM was honored with a Doctorate Degree in Law by Federal University Wukari (FUW), Taraba State.
The University Orator while reading Mustapha’s citation appreciated him for bringing many physical infrastructures into the school and described him as a Boss not only by nomenclature or name but in all ramifications.
The school Orator extolled Mustapha as a down-to-earth Man, a committed Christian who grew through the ranks and file of the law profession as a successful Lawyer in the private sector and delved into politics in the late 80s and early 90s and became a pillar to reckon with in the Nigerian Democracy.
He said his records of hardwork had made him accomplished much to the extend of which he became the SGF.
He gave a colorful background of Mustapha’s journey of life as an honest Nigerian who is straightforward in all his dealings, an intelligent Personality, and an excellent Man created by God for humanity who deserve to be honored as a good Nigerian by the university.
The Chancellor, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Adamu Baba Yunusa, the Ona of Abaji and Chairman FCT council of Chiefs conferred on Boss the Degree of Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) Federal University Wukari with the rights and privileges attached thereto.
Boss in standing ovation and admirations of many political associates, academic Magnets, friends, and well-wishers was decorated and bagged the award for his meritorious service to humanity, especially his contributions to the physical development of FUW.
Boss alongside former Minister of Water Resource, Chief Obadiah Ando, and His Royal Majesty, Manu Ishaku Ali, Matakhitswen, Aku Uka, the Chairman Taraba State Council of Chiefs were also honored with the Degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) and Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) respectively.
Boss on the Award responded on behalf of the two respected Nigerians and appreciated the management of FUW, Minister of Education, Professor Mamman Tahir for giving the approval.
Earlier the Vice Chancellor Professor Jude Samanni Rabo said the 6th and 7th combined convocation ceremony for the award of Bachelor and higher Degrees said the university gradually achieving its mission of becoming a student’s centered and community-engaged institution by providing an enabling environment that enhances intellectual growth, a strong commitment to academics excellence, integrity, and entrepreneurship, creating new knowledge and using ICT and other enabling technologies to solve practical problems.
He said the day was special to him because the university is supporting the developmental aspirations of Nigeria.
He revealed that 3,301 Degrees were awarded and 93 higher Degrees with 20 Postgraduates candidates to be awarded.
He called on graduated students to show a high sense of character and integrity as good ambassadors of the institution.
Rabo further said projects were Commissioned for various departments with a teaching hospital for medical college students.
