Edo Polls: Voting starts late at Asue Ighodalo polling unit

Voting in the ongoing governorship election in Edo officially began at 10:45 a.m. in Okaegben Ward One, Unit 3, Ewohimi, the polling unit of PDP candidate Asue Ighodalo. The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the delay was caused by the late arrival of INEC officials.

Once the voting commenced, priority was given to elderly men and women before the youth. Accreditation and voting processes are also taking place in Polling Units 3 and 15 within Okaegben Ward One, Ewohimi, located in Esan South East Local Government Area.

After casting his vote, Pa Wilson Bello shared with NAN that the process was simple and efficient. He expressed optimism, noting that if INEC maintains this pace, voting could conclude by 2 p.m.

Chief Honda Ikehide, the 91-year-old Eguaze of Ewohimi Kingdom and the oldest resident in the area, described the voting atmosphere as peaceful. He encouraged citizens to remain orderly and patient while waiting to vote for their preferred candidate.
