Breaking: Unknown Gunmen Abduct Lagos PDP Chairman

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr. Philip Aivoji, was abducted on Thursday evening along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway around 6 p.m, as reported by reliable sources. The abduction was later confirmed by the state publicity secretary of the party, Hon. Hakeem Amode.

Expressing concern over the incident, Amode emphasized the urgency of intervention from security agencies and government authorities at all levels to secure Aivoji’s release. The chairman had been returning from a stakeholders’ meeting in Oyo State, which was convened by Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke.

Amode lamented the prevalence of kidnapping in the country, highlighting the government’s apparent struggle to address this serious issue. He stressed the need for decisive actions to eradicate the menace, particularly in light of Aivoji’s violent abduction, where his current whereabouts and any communication from the abductors remain unknown.

The statement further appealed to the governments of Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos States, in conjunction with security agencies, to expedite efforts and ensure Aivoji’s safe return to his family and well-wishers. The PDP firmly believed that, with increased efforts from security agencies, Aivoji could be rescued from the criminals. The public was also urged to support initiatives aimed at putting an end to this threat to innocent lives.
