AFCON: Nigeria to Face South Africa in Semi-Finals

Four teams are now ready to map out their path to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Abijan as eight teams were whittled down to four ahead of Wednesday 7th February encounters.

Three times African champions Super Eagles of Nigeria will be coming up against The Bafana Bafana of south Africa who snatched a 2-1win against Cape Vade on nervy penalties following a goalless draw on regulation time.

The game is slated for Bouaké’s Stade de la Paix, were the South Africans will feature at this stage of the competition for the first time in two decades.

Records has revealed that Nigerian super eagles played eleven games against the South Africans since 2004. The Eagles recorded six wins, four draws and lost one game against the 2010 World Cup host.

The fate of Ivory Coast and DR Congo will also be decided on the same date at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Abidjan after Nigerian the game.

Many surprises have been brewing up in Ivory coast and many more are in the pipeline ahead of the finals with several shocking exit of giants making for an incredible continental championship.
