ADHA To Commence Public Hearing on Appointment of Chiefs, Emits

The ad-hoc committee of the Adamawa State House of Assembly has fixed Tuesday, 12th August 2025, for the conduct of a public hearing on a bill seeking to amend the Adamawa State Chiefs’ Appointment and Deposition Law, 2024.

The bill, which was sent to the House by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, seeks to empower the Governor to appoint a prince from the ruling houses to act in place of an incapacitated Emir or Chief during the period of incapacitation.
In a statement made available to Assembly correspondents by the secretary ad-hoc committe, Barrister Hassan Aminu, said the public hearing will hold at Barrister Ahmed Ali Gulak Committee Room of the Assembly Complex from 10:00 AM.
The statement explained that the public hearing is to enable the committee, collect inputs from relevant stakeholders from all the Emirates and Chiefdoms in the state for the proposed amendment of the law.
