Street-Hop Star Portable in Trouble Again Over Online Spat with Fuji Legend Saheed Osupa

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikilola Badmus, famously known as Portable, has once again found himself in the eye of a legal storm—this time over allegations of defamation levelled against him by Fuji icon Saheed Osupa.

The arrest, which took place on Sunday evening, April 13, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, followed a petition filed by Osupa, whose real name is Okunola Saheed. The music veteran accused Portable of criminal defamation, incitement, threat to life, character assassination, and conduct capable of inciting public unrest.

According to a statement released by the Kwara State Police Command spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the weight of the allegations—backed by substantial evidence—prompted the police to obtain a court-issued arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin.

“In view of the weight of these allegations and the supporting evidence presented, the command secured a valid arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin,” the statement read.

Portable was reportedly whisked to Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, around 7:25 p.m. on the day of his arrest for further questioning and investigation.
