Salihu Joins Adamawa 2027 Governorship Race, Unveils Forms in Yola
Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman (Northeast), Mustafa Salihu, has officially declared his intention to contest the Adamawa State governorship election in 2027.

Salihu made the announcement on Tuesday in Yola, where he presented his nomination forms to supporters following a rousing استقبال at Lamido Aliyu Mustafa International Airport. The declaration procession moved to his campaign office along Bank Road, where party faithful gathered in large numbers.
Speaking at the event, Salihu called on APC members to remain steadfast and united, emphasizing that internal cohesion would be crucial for the party’s success in the forthcoming elections. He also appealed for widespread support across party structures as he pursues his ambition to lead the state.
The Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, endorsed Salihu’s bid, noting that the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri require a competent successor. He described Salihu as a capable figure to take over the reins of leadership.
