FG Shuts 5 Warehouses Over Sale Of Substandard Fabrics In Kano
Ann on Cam: Five warehouses of textile distributors in Kano state have been shut down for unethical business practices by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

The warehouses and retailers were said to be engaged in the deceptive sale of underweight and shortened fabric materials to unsuspecting consumers.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the enforcement operations, the Director of Surveillance and Investigation, Bolade Adeyinka said any business that exploits Nigerian consumers or distorts the market or threatens fair competition will not be spared
She reassured the public that the Commission will continue to deploy lawful means to deter such exploitative conduct in all markets across Nigeria.
The action is a culmination of weeks-long surveillance around markets in Kano state by FCCPC following prevalent reports of the sale of fabric materials significantly below the standard length or measurement indicated by retailers.
