Yola Electricity  Distribution Company To Refund Over billed Customers

The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC), has said it will refund customers who were over billed in 2023.

The information was contained in press statement issued by the YEDC management, telling customers that: “It is aware of the position of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) in its 2023 Annual Report which indicates that distribution companies (Discos) across the country, including YEDC, had overbilled their customers in 2023 due to the implementation of the Service Reflective Tariff (SRT).”

According to YEDC, it is working with the “regulator” to ensure that every customer that falls within this category is given a commensurate refund as it’s their right.

It however noted that the modalities of the refund are yet to be finalised and communicated to the public.
