Woman Abducted in Abuja Found Dead After Kidnap Incident in Kubwa

A tragic kidnapping incident in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has resulted in the discovery of a woman’s body. Mrs. Esther Adesiyan, who was abducted along with several family members early on Monday, has been confirmed dead.

The kidnappers attacked the family’s home in the early hours, taking Mrs. Adesiyan, her husband Mr. Adesiyan Michael Akinropo, their son, and the elder brother of Mr. Akinropo. The assailants, after kidnapping the family members, moved on to a nearby building where they abducted another man and injured his wife before fleeing with their captives.

A source close to the family, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that Mrs. Adesiyan’s body was discovered the following day, Tuesday, in Ijah-Gbagyi, located within the Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State. Vigilantes in the area alerted local authorities about the discovery, leading to the transportation of her remains to Kubwa General Hospital for identification.

The family source further speculated that Mrs. Adesiyan may have been fatigued from the long walk through the bush, which likely contributed to her death. The kidnappers reportedly left her body behind and continued their journey with the remaining victims.

As of the latest reports, the kidnappers had not contacted the family, and authorities have yet to provide further updates on the investigation. Mrs. Adesiyan is survived by four children, including the son who was abducted alongside her.
