Yola, July 29, 2024 – In a recent press briefing, the Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Hon. Iliya James, addressed the distribution of relief items and the importance of maintaining peace in Adamawa State.
The briefing, held after a meeting with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s media team and media executives, highlighted key issues faced by the state.
Hon. James revealed that the Adamawa State government has not yet received the purported “20 trucks of food items allocated by the Federal government to the State.”
Despite this, he emphasized that the state government has been proactive in distributing relief food items, stating, “The government of Adamawa State has been proactive in distributing relief food items to the people of Adamawa State overtime within the limit of its resources.”
Additionally, the Commissioner acknowledged the receipt of some fertilizers allocated to the state, with distribution ongoing alongside the state-procured fertilizers.
The state government also urged citizens to exercise caution in gatherings, advising them to “avoid gatherings that could snowball into disastrous outings that miscreants and hideous creatures take advantage of and wreak havoc on the people leading to loss of lives and properties.”
The statement underscored the government’s awareness of the hardships faced by the people and its commitment to their well-being during these challenging times.
