Unity Torch Arrives Adamawa

National Sports Festival’s Unity Torch Lands in Adamawa and was presented to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the gate of the Government house in Dougirei.
Represented by the Chief of staff Dr Edgar Sunday Amos, the Governor highlighted the significance of sports and encourage the need to enhance the sporting sector in the country.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured of participation of Adamawa Teams in the Fourth coming twenty second National Sports festival in Ogun State.
Governor Fintiri also expressed optimism that the teams would come up with medals.
He was speaking while receiving the National Sports festival Unity Torch led by the Director Athletic, National Sports Sports Commission, Mrs. Kiana Mbora at entrance of Government House Yola.
The Governor, represented by the Chief of Staff Government House Yola, Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday noted the significance of sports in the society as very high.
Governor Fintiri announced that his administration has committed huge resources for the completion of new stadium along Numan road to boost sporting activities in Adamawa State.
The Governor recognised the advantages of sports in the society to include, unity among the people, discipline, promotion of love and friendship.
Earlier, the Director, Athletic National Sports Commission, Mrs. Mrs Kiana Mbora said the visit to Adamawa State was aimed at creating awareness about the National Sports festival coming up on the 16th to 30th May 2025, noting that sports unify the whole world.
She also commended the Adamawa State Government for putting necessary measures to ensure the participation of its teams at the Ogun Festival.
