At just 29 years old, Tems now holds more Grammy awards than any other Nigerian artist, surpassing her peers in a remarkable display of talent and global recognition. Love Me Jeje, a heartfelt love ballad, earned her the award after competing against other top-tier African artists, cementing her place as one of the biggest stars in international music.

Upon accepting the award, Tems shared an emotional moment, expressing gratitude to her supporters and dedicating the win to her mother. “Dear God, thank you so much for putting me on this stage and bringing me this team,” she said during her acceptance speech.

Tems’ Journey to Grammy Glory

This victory marks Tems’ second Grammy win. Her first came in 2023 when she was awarded Best Melodic Rap Performance for her collaboration with Future and Drake on the hit track Wait For U. Known for blending contemporary Afrobeats with global sounds, Tems has quickly become one of the most influential artists in the music industry.

Her 2024 album, Born in the Wild, has garnered widespread acclaim, with songs like Love Me Jeje and Burning earning significant attention. The song reached No. 1 on the UK Afrobeats chart and No. 3 on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart.
