Adamawa Works Commissioner Supervises Installation of Barriers, Signages on Flyovers, Inspects Abdullahi Bashir Road

The Adamawa State Commissioner for Works, Engineer Mohammed Suleiman, has undertaken a comprehensive  exercise to assess the ongoing installation supervision of protective barriers, wire mesh, and directional signages on major flyovers across the state capital.

The inspection, which took place recently, is part of the state government’s broader strategy to enhance urban safety and safeguard critical public infrastructure. During the tour, Engr. Suleiman inspected the newly installed barriers designed to protect the structural integrity of the flyovers, while also evaluating the placement of road signages intended to guide motorists and improve overall traffic management within the metropolis.

The Commissioner emphasized that the current administration remains unwavering in its commitment to infrastructural development. He noted that the combination of safety barriers and clear signage is expected to reduce the risk of accidents, prolong the lifespan of the flyovers, and ensure seamless navigation for road users.

“These measures are not just about aesthetics; they are about protecting the lives of our people and the investments we are making in public infrastructure,” Hon. Suleiman stated. “By installing these wire mesh and barriers, we are preventing unauthorized access and potential damage to the flyovers, while the signages will help motorists navigate the city with greater ease and order.”

Following the assessment of the flyover projects, the Commissioner proceeded to Abdullahi Bashir Road, where he inspected the ongoing construction works stretching from the Government House to the 80 Units Junction. He monitored the progress of earthworks, drainage systems, and pavement laying, reiterating the government’s resolve to deliver durable road networks that will ease transportation and boost economic activities in the area.

Engr. Suleiman expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on both the flyover safety installations and the road construction project. He urged the contractors to adhere strictly to project specifications and timelines, assuring residents that the state government is committed to delivering infrastructure that prioritizes safety, functionality, and durability.
