Senator Oluremi Tinubu Empowers 1,000 Women in Adamawa with N50 Million Fund

As part of efforts to empower women, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has launched N50 million empowerment fund targeting 1,000 women, petty traders in Adamawa State. Each beneficiary received N50,000 to help overcome economic challenges and contribute to the growth of the national economy.

The funds were presented at a ceremony held at the Government House in Yola, Adamawa State, where Senator Tinubu was represented by Hajiya Nana Shettima, the wife of the Vice President. The symbolic distribution included presenting N50,000 to 20 of the beneficiaries, with the remaining funds to be distributed through Hajiya Lami Fintiri, the wife of the Adamawa State Governor, who received the model cheque on behalf of the state.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Edgar Amos, commended Senator Tinubu’s initiative, emphasizing that it aligns with the state’s commitment to supporting women’s empowerment. The governor lauded the program as a vital step in aiding women to thrive economically amidst current economic challenges.

Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris, the coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative and the wife of the Kebbi State Governor, highlighted the importance of supporting women engaged in petty trading, particularly in light of the present economic conditions. She expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her dedication to this cause and encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds effectively to improve their businesses and livelihoods.
