Sardauna Women Urged to Participate in Continuous Voter Registration

Women in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State have been called upon to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to secure their right to vote and strengthen democratic participation.

The call was made during a sensitization program held in Gembu, the administrative headquarters of Sardauna LGA. The program was organized by the Special Assistant to the Taraba State Governor on Women Affairs, Patience Shehu Baju, with the aim of encouraging more women to register and take part in the electoral process.

Speaking at the event, the wife of the Sardauna Local Government Chairman, Jamila Mohammed Jirji Umar, expressed appreciation to Governor Agbu Kefas for appointing Patience Shehu Baju as Special Assistant on Women Affairs. She described Baju—who is also the wife of the paramount ruler of the Mambilla Plateau—as a blessing not just to Sardauna but to Taraba State as a whole.

Jamila also commended the women of Sardauna for their unwavering support to Governor Kefas and her husband’s administration. She reminded the gathering that voter registration is not just an event, but a civic duty and an opportunity for every eligible citizen to shape the future through the ballot.

In her remarks, Patience Shehu Baju thanked Governor Kefas for his consistent support of initiatives aimed at empowering women and youths across the state. She urged women, youths, and community leaders to take the registration exercise seriously, emphasizing that active participation will determine the quality of leadership and the future direction of society.
