Governor Ahmadu Fintri of Adamawa State and PDP Acting National Chairman Amb Illiya Damagum have expressed their readiness to secure victory for the PDP in the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States.

They made these assertions during the inauguration of PDP National Campaign Councils (NCCs) for the elections scheduled for September 21 and November 16, 2024, respectively. Fintri heads the campaign council for Edo, while Senator Ademola Adeleke from Osun State chairs the Ondo campaign council.

Fintri emphasized their preparedness for Edo, stressing they will capitalize on Governor Obaseki’s achievements and approach the elections with utmost seriousness. He highlighted minimal rigging potential due to technological advancements, giving PDP a strong position in both states. He also noted a significant increase in voter registrations in Edo.

Damagum urged committee members to fully support the party’s efforts to triumph in both states, citing their previous effective performance. He responded to President Bola Tinubu’s remarks on the elections, reaffirming PDP’s commitment to democratic principles and vigilance against any attempts to manipulate the electoral process.

He commended Governor Obaseki’s administration in Edo, expressing confidence in their ability to maintain and build on past successes. Damagum encouraged the campaign team heading to Ondo to be fearless in the face of challenges, asserting PDP’s readiness to counter any opposition tactics.

He concluded by reassuring the people of Ondo that the party is poised to reclaim the state, emphasizing their determination to deliver positive change and progress under PDP leadership.
