Over2,465 Students Matriculate As Adamawa Polytechnic Kicks Off New Academic Session

A total of 2,465 students have been formally matriculated into Adamawa State Polytechnic for the 2025/2026 academic session, officially marking the beginning of their academic journey across various disciplines.

The matriculation ceremony, held at the polytechnic’s main campus, saw the newly admitted students take the matriculation oath, pledging to abide by the institution’s rules and regulations while serving as responsible ambassadors.

Addressing the gathering, the Acting Rector, Dr. Harrison Edan Mbasumai, charged the students to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to academic excellence throughout their stay.

“Your admission is a privilege, not a right. You must shun vices such as cultism, examination malpractice, and drug abuse. I urge you to be diligent and take your studies seriously,” Dr. Mbasumai said.

The event was also marked by a vibrant cultural dance performance by the Chamba cultural group, adding colour and tradition to the ceremony.

Expressing excitement over their admission, some matriculating students shared their aspirations. Favor Absolom, a Civil Engineering student, said she was thrilled to be among the admitted students and promised to study hard to achieve her academic goals.

Similarly, Martin Peter, an Electrical Engineering student, expressed readiness to face the challenges of academic work with determination and dedication.

The administration of the matriculation oath was followed by a call from the polytechnic management for the new students to uphold the institution’s code of conduct and remain focused on their studies.

With the new academic session now underway, the polytechnic management reiterated its commitment to providing quality technical and vocational education in Adamawa State.
