Nigerian House of Representatives Member Is Dead
Another death has occurred in the House of Representatives. Honorable Ekene Abubakar Adams, representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Nigeria, has passed away.
Adams was a former football player and held positions as the General Manager of Kada City Football Club and Remo Stars before winning his seat in the House of Reps under the Labour Party in 2023. In his political journey, Adams shifted between parties, joining APGA and APC before securing his election victory with the Labour Party. He had previously contested for local government chairman under APC in 2021 but lost in the primaries. Adams came from a diverse background with his mother being Igbo, his wife Yoruba, and his father from a minority tribe in Kaduna. His death in the early hours of today marks the second death in the House of Representatives within a week.
