First Lady Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Celebrates Women on Nigeria’s Independence Day
The wife of Adamawa State Governor, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has sent warm greetings to women across the state on Nigeria’s Independence Day. In a statement from her press secretary, Mrs. Clara Mustapha, in Yola, she recognized the invaluable contributions of women in various sectors, including homes, markets, farms, and offices, advocating their role as the backbone of communities.
The statement emphasized the vital impact of women entrepreneurs on economic development, female educators in shaping future generations, healthcare workers providing compassionate care, and women in governance advocating for inclusive policies.
Acknowledging the challenges women face—such as gender-based violence, limited access to education and healthcare, and societal inequalities—the First Lady reaffirmed her commitment to supporting girls’ education, promoting women’s economic empowerment, and collaborating with stakeholders to combat gender-based violence.
She urged for ongoing support and mutual upliftment among women to create a brighter future.
