Nigeria will excel in sports this year – Nimrod

President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr Nimrod Musa says the profile of Nigeria is Sports rise higher than before.

Nimrod stated this in Yola while speaking with journalists on the future Beach Volleyball and other sports in the country.

He said sports has not gotten the kind of attention and supports until recently, he commend the leadership of National Sports Commission (NSC) lead by Mallam Shehu Diko and Bukola Olapade for their proactive approach to sports administration in the country.

Engr Nimrod Musa who is also the the President of Africa Beach Volleyball Commission praised the Nigeria Beach Volleyball Youth team for winning gold medal in the recently concluded African Youth Games I Angola.

“Our Beach Volleyball teams are making waves not only in Nigeria but also globally, this year will be very busy for volleyball and other sports”

” At the moment now our Super Eagles are doing well in the ongoing AFCON in Morroco and I pray they will win the trophy the 4th time for Nigerians”

“Like I said, this year ‘s sporting calendar is rich both local and international, the National Intermediate Games, National Sports Festival, National Youth Games, this is is good for Nigeria and Nigerians” he said.

The volleyball federation President, who is one of  the National Grand Patrons of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN)  commended Governor Ahamadu Umar Finitri for completing the over three decades neglected stadium in Adamawa which is due for commissioning

” Let me tell you, what the governor has done for youths and sports lovers in the state can never be over emphasized, this action of his will not only create livelihood for our teeming youths but it will also generate revenue for the state.

Engr. Nimrod called on wealthy individuals cooperate organization to join hands in the state to develop sports stressing that no matter how committed a government is to sports development, it can not do it alone.
