NDLEA Declares 4 Members of ‘Barryshine’ Drug Cartel Wanted for Trafficking Activities

NDLEA Issues Wanted Alert for Four Suspects Linked to ‘Barryshine’ Drug Cartel

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a wanted notice for four associates of notorious Lagos drug kingpin, Alhaji Suleiman Aremu Ganiu, known as ‘Barryshine’ or ‘Ejeoto’. These individuals are wanted for their involvement in various drug trafficking activities, linked to charges currently being prosecuted in a Federal High Court in Lagos.

The NDLEA’s move comes after an order was granted by Honourable Justice Akintayo Aluko on January 28, 2025, in relation to a drug trafficking case. The following suspects have been declared wanted for their alleged roles in the cartel’s operations:

1. Olarenwaju Ramon Abdulai (a.k.a. Alhaji Loyingbo)
2. Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye (a.k.a. Igbono, Baba Eje, Ade Iwaya, Femi Iwaya)
3. Olumuyiwa Olufemi Ilori (a.k.a. Murphy)
4. Alate Kafy Bakare Bukki (of Kaffy Travels)
5. 

These individuals are believed to be at large and have been linked to the activities of Suleiman Ganiu, the leader of the ‘Barryshine’ drug syndicate. The court ruling also mandates that their photographs be displayed in public notices to aid in their capture.

Suleiman Ganiu, who operates Barryshine Suleiman Nigeria Ltd, was arrested on August 26, 2024, after being under investigation by the NDLEA for two years. His name came to prominence after four attempts to export cocaine through Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos were foiled between 2022 and 2024. Several members of his network have already been apprehended, convicted, and sentenced.

Currently, Ganiu is facing numerous criminal charges at the Federal High Court in Lagos. The NDLEA continues its efforts to dismantle the drug trafficking operations associated with his cartel.
