Media Queen Clara Attah Mustapha to Be Honoured as Nya-Pira Serko

Mrs. Clara Attah Mustapha, renowned media icon and advocate for women’s empowerment, is set to be conferred with the traditional chieftaincy title of Nya-Pira Serko by the District Head of Serko, Mr. Sunday Musa Philip Maken, on Saturday, 17th May 2025.

This forthcoming honour is not merely ceremonial—it is a powerful recognition of Clara’s years of dedication to public service, grassroots development, and the cultural identity of  Chamba in Adamawa State. Nya-Pira, which roughly translates to “Chief advicer or Mother of the Community,” is a name befitting a woman whose life has been rooted in service, mentorship, and advocacy.

Clara’s journey began humbly in Gurumpawo, Ganye LGA. From her early days at Government Day Secondary School to becoming a household name on Adamawa Television Corporation and Gotel TV, Clara built a media career that gave voice to the voiceless, especially women. For over two decades, she shaped public opinion, mentored younger journalists, and set editorial standards in Northeast Nigeria.

2. Championing Women and Culture
As the founder of Woman Voice Magazine—the first women-focused publication in the region—Clara has amplified the stories, struggles, and triumphs of women in northern Nigeria. Her book, Let’s Speak Chamba, is a rare and timely contribution to preserving indigenous language and culture.

3. A Life of Quiet Giving
Beyond the camera lights and press statements, Clara lives a life of compassion. She currently sponsors the full education of seven children from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring they have access to quality learning and moral guidance. Through grants, vocational training, and relief programs, she also supports widows across Adamawa State, helping them regain financial stability and dignity.

4. Public Service and Representation
In her current role as Press Secretary to the Wife of the Governor of Adamawa State, Clara brings professionalism and poise into governance communication, ensuring that issues affecting women and families are given the visibility they deserve. Her forthcoming role in the traditional council of Serko District, through this chieftaincy, will further solidify inclusive leadership in the area.
