IGP Egbetokun’s Visit: Adamawa State Police Command Ramps Up Security

The Adamawa State Police Command has intensified security measures in Yola, the state capital, ahead of the visit of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.

The IGP is scheduled to arrive in Yola on Thursday, March 27, 2025, for the official commissioning of the newly constructed Ultra-Modern Police Headquarters complex.

To ensure a smooth and secure event, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, alongside the supervising Area Commanders of Yola and Karewa, to oversee security deployments at all critical locations where the IGP and other dignitaries will be hosted.

Key areas receiving heightened security include Lamido Aliyu International Airport, the route leading to the Government House, and the Lamido’s Palace, among others.

 

Nigerian police

According to the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Commanding Officer of the 14 PMF will lead a team of armed personnel from various tactical units, including the Special Protection Unit and the Counter-Terrorism Unit, to secure all entry and exit points in the city.

Additionally, traffic management officers, under the leadership of the Officer in Charge of the Central Motor Traffic Division (CMTD), will be deployed to ensure smooth vehicular movement throughout the event.

To further bolster security, the Anti-Bomb Squad and crowd control police officers will be stationed at designated venues to conduct security sweeps and manage any emergency situations.
