SSA to President Donates Food Items to FOMWAN, Brings Ramadan Relief to Women
In a heartwarming display of solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan, the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN) received a significant donation of food items aimed at cushioning the effects of the hardship being faced by its members.
The gesture, which brought palpable joy and relief to the women, was made by Honorable Delu Bulus Yakubu, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Humanitarian Affairs.

Speaking at the event premises during the distribution, Hon. Yakubu explained that the donation was driven by a deep personal passion for the welfare of women and a sincere desire to share blessings during the sacred period of Ramadan.
“It is my duty and my joy to give back, especially during a time that emphasises compassion and charity,” she stated. “This is about standing with our mothers and sisters who are the backbone of our communities, and ensuring they have what they need to observe the fast with dignity.”
The call for collective responsibility resonated deeply with the beneficiaries, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude. For many of the women present, the items—which included staple foods such as rice, beans, and cooking oil—could not have come at a more critical time.
The Zonal Coordinator for FOMWAN North East Zone 2, Hajiya Fati Girei, formally acknowledged the donation and specifically thanked the presidential aide for her compassion and thoughtfulness towards the less privileged members of society.
“This is a lifeline for many of our families,” Hajiya Girei said. “We are deeply moved by Honorable Yakubu’s thoughtfulness. On behalf of all our members, I want to assure her that these items will be put to very good use and will reach those who need them the most.”
The event, which underscored the importance of community support and humanitarian action, concluded on a spiritual note. The women gathered for a session of goodwill prayers, offering supplications for Honorable Delu Bulus Yakubu. They prayed for her continued success in her role and for God’s abundant blessings upon her life and work.
