Governor Agbu Kefas Hosts Nigerian Army Chief, Donates Trucks and Boats to Boost Security in Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas has highlighted Taraba State’s current period of relative peace, attributing it to his administration’s deliberate focus on security. He made the statement while receiving the Chief of Defence Operations, Nigerian Army, Major General Emeka Onumajuru, during a courtesy visit at TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.

Reflecting on the security challenges the state faced upon his assumption of office, including widespread kidnapping and criminal activities, Governor Kefas commended the collaborative efforts of security agencies in restoring peace. He also urged the military to extend its operations to neighbouring states sharing boundaries with Taraba, including Adamawa, Bauchi, and Plateau.

Major General Onumajuru stated that his visit aimed to assess the security situation in Taraba, review troop performance, and identify areas for improvement. He praised Governor Kefas for the state government’s unwavering support to the Army, emphasizing that the successes recorded in Taraba were largely due to such commitment.

Following the meeting, Governor Kefas, alongside Major General Onumajuru and other officers, commissioned eight AV armoured trucks and four flying boats to strengthen ongoing operations against criminal activities in the state.
